Howdy ;D I live in Richmond Hill, Ontario a town just north of Toronto :) I'm currently 16 and I recently just started playing hockey. So far I barely got any ice time since you have to pay and I don't really have a lot of money.. I don't have much hobbies and don't play a lot of other sports but hockey.. hockey is what I am most interested in out of everything and really would like to learn the ways of the puck ;) I'm not going into being pro (i dont have all the gear like shoulder pads stuff like that, just skates, helmet, gloves, and the good old hockey stick) but at least work on my skills time to time is fine and your website and especially your videos on youtube has been very helpful in getting to where I am aiming for. The tips you give are super effective and hope you make a lot more videos in the future. So far I've been practicing a whole load of stick handling and playing street hockey with my neighbour and I hope to transfer all those skills onto the ice whenever I get the chance!
Thank you so much for all your help and the dedication you put in to help others.

Good day! I just signed up and here is a little about me. I live in a small town outside Pittsburgh Pa (USA). I am a huge fan of hockey... obviously the Penguins. I myself don not play ice hockey since I am sort of a "late bloomer" I guess. I have been playing in an "Over 40" dek hockey league for about a year and my only experience prior to that was pick up games of street hockey growing up. Growing up I didn't have the oppurtunity to learn to ice skate really and hockey wasn't really that big of a thing back then. Also there were some family health issues that got in the way. Life happens... it's all good. Anyway, I starteed playing pick up games at 38 as a goalie due to the need for two and we only had one "real" goalie. I enjoyed it but wasn't the best at it. Then I recently started playing at a local dek in the over 40 league as a defensemen on a team with of all people, Alain Lemiuex, brother of Mario. He is a really cool guy and actually has had a clinic or two for kids down at the dek. I recently have giving a little bit of winger a try too. I don't have that great of a shot so I was looking for things to help. I was looking for hockey mats to protect my stick while trying to improve my slap / wrist shot, and eventually saw your review(s) and bought one, actually 10 minutes ago, and the passer attachment and some pucks. I will try shooting both balls and pucks, I know there will be a difference but the mechanics should be the same / close enough... right? My 11 year old son is going to be using it too. I know there is a difference between dek and ice (a big one) but so far you guys are the best site I found for info and ideas for improving my game and my son's (who hopefully will get interested in playing ice). Maybe at some point you could add a little section on playing dek or street hockey and some tips and equipment. I'll get you started with the D-Gel broomball shoes. (No I don't work for them.) They are great to wear on an outdoor deck in the snow and rain when the dek gets as "slippy" (Pittsburgh -ese for slippery) as ice.
Anyway I really like your site and hope you are willing to welcome an old dek player to your Ice site :)

Hey, my name is Jeffrey, and my son Ayden is playing Mite ADM for North Olmsted Hockey Club in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a first generation hockey player that decided he wanted to be a professional hockey player before he ever put on skates. I never played and it was making me feel bad that I couldn't help him improve because he's already better than me. Your videos are a huge help as he and I can watch your great videos and learn proper techniques together. Thank you for all you passion and dedication.

What a great site guys. This is so helpful for every day joe schmoes like me who love to play hockey but were never trained professionally or through some form of organized hockey due to financial reasons or other lack of resources. I am definitely forwarding this to some of my beer league buddies who would greatly benefit from your teachings. Keep up the passionate work and thanks again.

Hey, my name is Brandon and I am from Ft. Myers, Florida. I am 14 years old and I am a defensman on the Bantam Florida Eels travel team. I still need a lot of work to get better, but I am never going to give up. I just love hockey way too much!! I am going to ask for the power slide board for Christmas to help me work on mostly my stride and stick handling. I have watched a few of your videos and I think that they are great and a lot of help for many players. Keep up the great work and your dedication to hockey.

Hi Jeremy, Hi Ken! My name's Petr and I'm from Czech republic. Hockey is just a passion of mine, but I'm playing hockeyball. Although I cannot use all your advices because character of the sport is different, there still remain lots of useful videos also for hockeyball. I appreciate you're doing it for free and I would like to give you something back. I'm interested in website-development, I have a small web-studio and if I can help you some, just send me a mail!

I'm 57 years old and started ice skating about 4 months ago. And I want to get good enough to play on the local novice adult hockey leagues that I can't stand it. A friend/co-worker that plays on the local leagues, keeps threatening me that he's gonna sign me up and make me sign the papers! I'm a much better skater than I was when I first started, but nowhere near ready to even think about playing the game. But I'm gonna get there!

I really like and get a lot out of your beginner skating videos. Especially the how to hockey stop video for absolute beginners. That one helped out a lot, not that I can do it yet (I tend to fall on my butt a lot!), but I can tell that I getting better....just a matter of time and practice.

Thanks for for putting up the site, and how about some more video's for us beginners?
